Bow Voters have Compelling Reasons to get out and Vote at Town Meeting & Town Elections

To the Editor;

Good news, Bow Taxpayers have a motivating reason to get out and vote on Tuesday March 11 as well as attending Town Meeting Wednesday March 12. First of all we have got two great candidates who are driven to lower our already sky high tax-rate. Those two tax fighting candidates are Robert Arnold and Jeff Knight. Bow if you are sick and tired of out of control property taxes let’s get out and support these candidates. If we all talk to, and encourage our family, friends and neighbors perhaps we can have a record turnout on Bow Election Day. This includes absentee ballots for those who are out of town during the election.

You can get an absentee ballot form on http://bowtaxpayers.org/bow/documents/application-for-absentee-ballot/

Times are changing and there is a new organized taxpayer’s group in Bow. The Concerned Bow Taxpayers give frustrated Bow taxpayers a compelling reason to go to Town Meeting this year and put a stop to skyrocketing taxes. The Concerned Bow Taxpayers will be working hard to make sure that you will be surrounded with fellow Bow residents who’ve had enough of huge tax bills. Just look around, houses in Bow are not selling because of the sky high taxes. A beautiful house in my neighborhood has been for sale for a very long time and I have seen the price reduced twice.

Right now Bow is racing to the fiscal cliff at full speed with one big spending proposal after another totally ignoring what is happening at the Bow Power Plant. Bow Power Plant was devalued another $50 Million last year meaning Bow Residents have to pick up more than a million lost in tax revenue. With the current assault on coal plants the Bow Power Plant could be gone in only a few years. Bow Power Plant has been Bow’s golden goose for years now it is time that Bow finds new ways to lower taxes to encourage business to stay and come to Bow. Perhaps the Bow Power Plant would even consider converting to natural gas if taxes become reasonable in Bow once again.

Some people might say that you are against the Bow Police and Bow Firefighters (Guns and Hoses) if you do not support the super expensive “Garage-mahal”. I disagree; it seems that the first thing that gets cut during tough times is police and fire. I think it is more important to support Bow Police and Bow Firefighters than a bunch of unneeded government buildings.
