Bow Power Plant Files for Another Abatement for Next Year

The tax revenue change as a result of the current abatement for the coming year is a negative One Million Dollars plus. This is the amount that Bow Taxpayers will have to make up.

They have also filed for an abatement again for next year.

The plant is only being used for winter production and was shut down last year from April 1st to November 1st.

EPA wants this plant out of service because it burns coal — it cannot burn natural gas.

Of interest is that they get a tax abatement for the new scrubber, Bow can’t tax it for property value (over and above the current abatement).
