Bow residents to decide fate of fire station at second part of town meeting

“The Bow fire station will again take center stage at part two of
the town meeting tomorrow night. This time, residents will consider plans to
repair the station where it stands, a week after they overwhelmingly rejected a
proposal to construct a brand-new building to house both the fire and police
stations.”

Bow Power Plant Files for Another Abatement for Next Year

The tax revenue change as a result of the current abatement for the coming year is a negative One Million Dollars plus. This is the amount that Bow Taxpayers will have to make up.

They have also filed for an abatement again for next year.

The plant is only being used for winter production and was shut down last year from April 1st to November 1st.

EPA wants this plant out of service because it burns coal — it cannot burn natural gas.

Of interest is that they get a tax abatement for the new scrubber, Bow can’t tax it for property value (over and above the current abatement).
